Corpus for a wreath

We chose a regular polystyrene base for the Advent wreath. It has a regular shape and they fit well into it and firmly hold the spikes on the Advent candles. We wrap the base with a jute ribbon so that it does not cut the floristic wire when tying it and the white color does not shine through anywhere on the wreath. In the same way, we can also use the straw body without any problems.

Tying the wreath

We tie the wreath so that the twigs point clockwise. We cut the twigs into several sizes. We insert shorter twigs in the center of the wreath and longer ones towards the edge. We attach the binding wire to the body, secure it with a few tight turns and we can start. You can find a detailed “how to” guide in the attached video tutorial. We cover the whole body with twigs so densely that it cannot be seen anywhere. Place the individual twigs from the inside towards the edge and tie them firmly with floristic wire. We alternate the individual types of aspen and regularly supplement them with small golden twigs. We carefully and evenly fold them in individual layers. We always tie the twigs in the same way, regularly around the entire perimeter of the wreath.

Advent candles

Place the candle spikes on the wreath. We can choose Advent candles in different shapes, sizes and colors. It is also necessary to adapt their fastening to this. Depending on the candle, we will select the appropriate type and size of metal holders with spikes, with which we will attach the candles to the wreath. Candles can be placed on the Advent wreath in several ways. You can view a sample that will make your decision easier in the following instruction video. In it you will find six variants of candles and their placement on the wreath. You will see how the choice of candles will affect the final appearance of the wreath. You can easily choose which type of candles and their arrangement on the Advent wreath you like the most.
